Retirement and forum shutdown (17 Jan 2022)
Hi,
John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.
I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.
With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.
I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.
If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.
I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.
I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.
Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

So I just fed my community tank, and as my corys came swimming towards there tablet food, I noticed that one of them Is so Pale!! Like a completely different colour than the others..
Has any body seen this before? and Yes he's eating and seems to be flocking with the rest of the group,
Just his colour is scaring me a little..

Why i asked was there anything else in the tank bullying them was that i have had something like this happen me also but not as white/pale as your own.
I had a Krib in the tank and would not leave just the one Cory alone and that's what stressed him out i thought that he was a goner but i moved the pair off Kribs to another breeding tank as they where only acting like this as they when laying egg.
In the end he got pass it and perfect in about a week and a half,
I think your best off sending Ian a Pm and asking him as he could have more opinions/Scientific reasons on this.
Or maybe someone else as came across this and could give us a answer mate

This can sometimes be due to water quality that results in a Bacterial infection that sometimes leads to septicemia, you can sometimes see red inflammation or streaks, I would isolate it and then treat both the patient and main Tank for Bacterial infection.
Kev.
In addition, if you find water is perfect, you could be experiencing discoloration because of stress, to be sure, put in some extra cover like Bogood or cave like structures to afford them security, if colour returns, all's well.

He looks like he's the bigger of the Group so it looks like it was something other than the stress that caused him to die.
Kev.
I know this may sound mad but in one way i hope it is something else as theres nothing worst then having something in a tank stressing out others.
But then this would leave you having to find out what the issue was so that it doesnt happens others
Kev could this be some kind off internal issue?
