Retirement and forum shutdown (17 Jan 2022)

Hi,

John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.

I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.

With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.

I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.

If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.

I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.

I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.

Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

3 whiptails hard to id, my old one is fantastic looking, the one i bought of mark is a tank of a fish now and joeys half a head is the most active

3 yoyos

3 boesmani rainbows (again the one i got off joey is a complete tool lol) the two i got in av look as though they have paired off

1 bristle nose pleco (joey this one worked out fine) beautiful colour

2 khuli loaches

9 rummynose tetra (sourced in av and off joey, no disrepect to av but the ones i got off joey are really top notch, but that's how it always is isn't it)

7 glowlight tetras (sourced off mark, he claims they where breeding because he had them well conditioned, he just couldn't let me feel special that i was doing something right)

7 odessa barbs (i hope) scored some off djk but joeys rainbow wont let me see them

2 galaxy rasboras (hell will freeze over and my gf will allow me a fish room before i call them anything else, galaxy rasboras sounds fantastic)

1 neon tetra who wont die he has a large tumour on his mouth ages but he still trods along not a bother

1 gold gourami was small wen i got him but competing with the rainbow has made him a giant of a fish

i'm hoping 40+ shrimp but joeys rainbow and it's red shits look to have depleated my numbers

and a bumble bee cat fish who i just know is going to eat the shrimp.

i think that's it, all is well in tank except im a murderer, im a mur'diddly'urder wen it comes to plants, except my enhindoras or wat ever, this thing is turning my house into a jungle wit stems, flowers and baby plants, but java moss is a disaster to grow

i feel a bit guilty about that rainbow, and i should be kinda ashamed that i raised lemons, but i cant help laughing at that post. so eloquent. and so true, that rainbow is the jedward of the rainbow fish - a bit excitable and very stupid
happy about the rummy's and BNP, and the whiptail being a bit "special":S never knew he'd half his head chomped when i bought him, must have been dropped on his head as a baby...
