What website would you recommend to buy plants?
×
Hi,
John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.
I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.
With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.
I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.
If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.
I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.
I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.
Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

In view of the Forum's guidelines answers to the first part of the question should be made by PM...
Rather makes a mockery of my request for more posts, but in this case it has to be, I'm afraid.
As to the EasyCarbo, I know a lot of people who use this to great effect, although perhaps it wouldn't totally rule out the need for co2.
I picked up a very interesting little booklet of theirs in Dublin recently and it explains all this far better than ever I could.
Any EasyCarbo users out there?

I think its a bit of a hit and miss scenario when it comes to bying plants online if you look about nine threads down from yours you will see a topic plant ID and another one a few more further down about dealings with an online store.
Ill Pm you one that i use but its in german so if like me you dont speak german just put the link into google translator.

I'm a big fan of easycarbo - definitely has perked up some plants for me which were on their way out. Also has a tangible effect on algae.
The one thing is- you've got to keep using it. Once everything seems fine again, its wasy to forget to add it to your tank, but some plants just seem to need the CO2.

I use full range of EasyLife products: Carbo, Nitro, Kalium/Potasium, Ferro, Profito and Fosfo. I can recommend them. Great results when lighting is proper and for more demanding plants CO2 supplied. EasyCarbo does not replace CO2 in a tank, they serve different purposes. I add fertilisers on a daily basis not weekly as given in instructions - it works better.

Easycarbo won't replace CO2.
I have easycarbo but only use it when things get out of hand and I want a quick fix.
Plant growth is much better with CO2.
But everybody knows CO2/easycarbo is not the only thing that is needed for good plant growth.
Plants will only thrive in a well balanced system.
