ADA New Amazonia substrate
×
Hi,
John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.
I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.
With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.
I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.
If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.
I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.
I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.
Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

On browsing the Net I found information that ADA has recently introduced New Amazonia substrate that combines fertilization of Amazonia I and water clarity of Amazonia II. Does anybody have any more information or maybe had a chance to test it?

Hi. Thats all i founded on ADA web.
NEW AMAZONIA
ADA bestselling Substrate Soil, AQUA SOIL AMAZONIA has been improved!
ADA has so far marketed AQUA SOIL AMAZONIA, and AMAZONIA II, but now it is possible to deliver AQUA SOIL AMAZONIA II with properties of AQUA SOIL AMAZONIA, by revising the selection of raw materials, and production process. We integrated AMAZONIA II with AMAZONIA, and started offering it as "NEW" AMAZONIA in a renewed packaging. "NEW" AMAZONIA is the idealistic substrate material for the Nature Aquarium, and has advantages of both AMAZONIA and AMAZONIA II.
New Feature of AQUA SOIL AMAZONIA
In addition to the original AMAZONIA features, new AMAZONIA has following advantages.
01.Amazonia makes aquarium water a bid acidic.
Aqua Soil lowers pH and KH, and makes an idealistic environment for plants and fish.
02.New Amazonia contains rich organic acid and nitrogen level.
Organic substances in the soil are effective for keeping shrimps in healthy condition.
03.Its pebbles are hard to crumble.
The humic acid helps the plant growth, and hard-to-crumble pebbles do not cause water coloring/cloudiness
Probably its to new to be tested yet. I know some of substrates been changing water parameters after 6 months and ADA New Amazonia its only 4 months on market so wee need some more time.
However ADA its know as one of best substrates makers so probably New Amazonia gone successfully replace old substrates.

I'm ordering it in Poland and the delivery shouldn't take more than a week but it's first time I'm placing an order with this company but the courier they use is OK. I found an offer in France but they post everything by French Post and it looks like having a lot of problems when something is wrong with the delivery according to their terms and conditions.

I hope so! Finally I ordered it and it's on the way! First reports on tests in a testing tank are very good. I was impressed with the water test results just after 24 hours form the substrate being watered.
My concerns is how to keep it (substrate) in good condition to have it for longer, I didn't find any information on it so far.
