Retirement and forum shutdown (17 Jan 2022)

Hi,

John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.

I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.

With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.

I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.

If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.

I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.

I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.

well theres no more football on tonight and im not going to the pub!!
so just thought id throw out a question to everyone,
just to see who has the biggest or most tanks, and let us know what kind of fish you have in them?
and if anyone has and monster fish??

ive 1 and 4 fifths, the 4 fifths is a 20g missing the bottom fifth and the other 1 is 100g wit 3 yo yo loaches, a common/debatable pleco, a whiptail pleco, 2 khuli loaches, 4 odessa barbs, 2 glow light tetras and my monster fish is JAWS the killer and most verocious aggressive tropical fish known to man a neon tetra, he's dead cool he used to put it up to fish 10 times his size b4 being chased off, i have him years unfortunetly old age is showing on him and he might be going to the big tropical lake in the sky, wat you got mate?

ok so far i've 1x800l, 2x450l, 1x180l, 2x120l, 4x90l, 6x60l, 3x45l, 3x20l so 22 tanks in total running at approx just under 3000 litres, and planning more if i can slip them past her indoors ;)
as for monster fish not really my biggest is a couple of 13" frontosa males
as for what i'm keeping at the mo its a lot of tangs, some malawis, angels, discus, lots of corys, galaxy rasboras, siamese fighters, betta brownorum, some killies, shrimp, panaques, flash plecos, syno granulosa, syno petricolor, syn multi and a few others

wow!! that is alot of tanks!! where do you put them all?
i have 4 tanks, 60ltr, 85ltr, 120ltr, & 150ltr as for fish i have 2 baby oscars 2 convicts,
8 silver dollars, 6 angels and a mix of mollys, guppys, plecos, cats, tetras, gourmai

bought a 8x10 foot shed, insulated it , wired it and now half of its my fish house, although 3 tanks are in the parents house, and one in my fathers office

Dam sheag thats alot of tanks.:laugh:

I have 1x180ltr 1x65ltr 1x45ltr 1x200ltr pond,
My fish are, 8xNeons, 6xRummynose tetra, 4xPristella tetra, 4xPoppindetta, 4Colombian tetra, 7xGuppies, 5xPlattys, 4Bronze corys, 10xCherry shrimp,
2xPlecs, 2xChinese alge eaters, 3xBlack skirt tetra 1xDwarf gourami, 2xAngels, 5xKoi 2xGold fish.

Think thats everything but im setting up my 60ltr for something different so I'm planning on getting a few more fish this week B)

1x600l asian river fish (with archers, severum and leporinus as odd ones out)
2x100l one tanganiykan one planted community
1x35l cherry shrimp
1x45l green spotted puffer & bumble bee gobies

not really any monsters. 2 friends have big tanks with monsters/killers and it spells trouble
