Retirement and forum shutdown (17 Jan 2022)

Hi,

John Howell who has managed the forum for years is getting on and wishes to retire from the role of managing it.
Over the years, he has managed the forum through good days and bad days and he has always been fair.
He has managed to bring his passion for fish keeping to the forum and keep it going for so long.

I wish to thank John for his hard work in keeping the forum going.

With John wishing to "retire" from the role of managing the forum and the forum receiving very little traffic, I think we must agree that forum has come to a natural conclusion and it's time to put it to rest.

I am proposing that the forum be made read-only from March 2022 onwards and that no new users or content be created. The website is still registered for several more years, so the content will still be accessible but no new topics or replies will be allowed.

If there is interest from the ITFS or other fish keeping clubs, we may redirect traffic to them or to a Facebook group but will not actively manage it.

I'd like to thank everyone over the years who helped with forum, posted a reply, started a new topic, ask a question and helped a newbie in fish keeping. And thank you to the sponsors who helped us along the away. Hopefully it made the hobby stronger.

I'd especially like to thank John Howell and Valerie Rousseau for all of their contributions, without them the forum would have never been has successful.

Thank you
Darragh Sherwin

So...
Retired my 30L Dwarf Pass
Replaced it with 60L tank

Did not much of work on scape. Just crammed in 2 big rocks and tree
The plan relays more on the Dwarf grass growing thick and form
main look of the scape cutting it when I will get there

Tech side:
Capacity: 60L
Light: 2x28w T5 with reflectors & DIY rails
Spinning on JBL 1501e + Co2

Plants:
Dwarf grass, Anubias nana

Live stock:
1 pair of Gouramins and 6 Dwarf spotted danios (Danio nigrofasciatus)

I am planted!

I like this scape a lot. Nice and simple, will look very good when the carpet forms!

Any info on the diy rails? Would like to know what you used and how you made?

Cheers!

Thanks!

I wouldn't call it as a carpet through. My plan is to get this grass as tall as possible. In my imagination
it looks pretty cool, but it may take another 5-6 months to get there as Dwarf grass does not grow as fast
as I would love to. My target is that on the back it will reach about 15-20CM and front and middle ground 5-10cm

With this current it should flow and form nicely.

about the lights.

So I have just arcadia ballast carrying 2x28w T5s'
x2 Juwel reflectors and for rails I managed to get slat wall hooks

Everything else was just a small job with pliers and force to get the right angles.
To be honest - these hooks were just in place for this project and they
did save me a lot without trying to overshopisticate something ugly
or bloody expensive

THANK you Kev for such a lovely pair of Betta PK
They perfectly fit in my little community tank. Love them!

I have a plan to replace this one with Fuval 46L. Looks like I'm gonna plant
that one only with different sorts of anubias. Betta pair will feel much happier
Adopted this pair of Kevin and as they came from litle community tank I love
the fact male do not bother about other fish. Just playing around with his female

Beautiful looking tank and even more beautiful looking fish

Is it just me or does Two Stones Of Rock sound like a great title for an AC/DC album

The Anubias nana really is spreading. That's some nice growth right there.

The tank is looking great. The fish too.
